Terms and Conditions

Introduction

Welcome to Tech Scholars ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your child’s enrollment in and participation in our face-to-face short courses ("Courses"). By enrolling in a Course, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

 

Eligibility

  1. Our Courses are designed for children ("Participants"). The recommended age range will be described in the course details.. By enrolling a Participant, you confirm that:
    1. You are the parent or legal guardian of the Participant, or you have obtained their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent.
    2. The Participant meets the age requirements.
  2. We reserve the right to request proof of age and consent.

 

Course Content and Objectives

  1. The Courses cover technical topics, and the details of the content of each course are provided in the course descriptions published on this website. 
  2. The time, date and duration of each course is published on this website.
  3. We reserve the right to change course content, time, date, and location of each course if we have reasonable grounds for doing so. Notice of any changes will be provided by updates on this website.
  4. We have a minimum participation requirement for each course, and we reserve the right to cancel a course at short notice if we do not have a sufficient participation quota.
  5. While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, the course content is for educational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice.

 

Enrollment and Fees

  1. To enroll a child, in a Course, you must:
    1. Complete the registration form provided on our website or through an approved enrollment process.
    2. Pay the Course fees in full by the specified deadline.
  2. Course fees are published on this website.
  3. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified under Section 8 (Cancellations and Refunds).
  4. Discounts or promotional offers may apply and will be communicated at our discretion.

 

Participant Conduct

  1. Participants are expected to:
    1. Behave respectfully towards instructors, staff, and fellow participants.
    2. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided during the Course.
  2. We reserve the right to remove any Participant who engages in inappropriate or disruptive behaviour. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

 

Health and Safety

  1. Parents or guardians must inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs the Participant may have prior to the start of the Course.
  2. We take reasonable measures to ensure a safe environment but cannot guarantee the elimination of all risks. Parents and guardians accept full responsibility for any risks associated with the Participant’s attendance.
  3. Participants under 11 years old must be accompanied to the classroom where the course is being held by their parent, guardian or an adult authorised by you. 
  4. It is the parent or guardians responsibility to make sure Participants arrive at the course venue on time, and that Participants are collected from the course venue after the course ends each day. We are not responsible for Participants safety when travelling to, or from, the course venue.

 

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. We collect personal information for the purpose of Course registration, administration, and communication. By enrolling, you consent to our collection, use, and storage of this information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws.
  2. We may take photos or videos during the Course for promotional purposes. If you do not consent to this, please notify us in writing before the start of the Course.

 

Cancellations and Refunds

  1. If you wish to cancel the Participant’s enrollment, you must notify us in writing. Refunds will be provided as follows:
    1. 100% refund if cancellation occurs at least 14 days before the Course start date.
    2. 50% refund if cancellation occurs at least 7 days before the Course start date.
    3. No refund if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the Course start date.
  2. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a Course due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another Course. 

 

Liability

  1. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to the Participant’s attendance at our Courses.
  2. Parents and guardians agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from the Participant’s actions during the Course.

 

Intellectual Property

  1. All materials provided during the Course, including but not limited to presentations, handouts, and digital content, are the intellectual property of Tech Scholars.
  2. Neither you, nor the Participants, may reproduce, distribute, or use these materials for commercial purposes, or any purpose not intended by Tech Scholars, without our prior written consent.

 

Amendments

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on our website, and continued participation in a Course constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

 

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Courses will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales.

 

Other policies

There may be policies of 3rd parties which you are required to comply with.

For courses held at Chatswood library, you, and Participants are required to comply with Willoughby city library policies and guidelines https://libraries.willoughby.nsw.gov.au/About-us/Policies-and-guidelines  which are incorporated into this agreement by reference.
